Clinical Sites (Outpatient Based Labs)
A major strength of our program is dedicated training in a high-volume outpatient interventional radiology practice model. Through the office-based labs of Vascular Interventional Physicians, residents gain exposure to the delivery of advanced image-guided care in ambulatory settings, with strong emphasis on consultation, procedural efficiency, longitudinal follow-up, and patient-centered convenience. Across the Memphis and Southaven sites alone, faculty performed more than 2,150 procedures and completed over 5,100 clinic visits in 2025, giving residents meaningful experience in the scope, scale, and workflow of modern outpatient IR.
The procedural breadth of this outpatient practice includes peripheral arterial disease intervention, vein disease treatment, uterine fibroid embolization, prostate artery embolization, hemorrhoid embolization, genicular artery embolization, and interventional oncology. This reflects the expanding clinical and procedural range of modern IR outside the hospital setting, and this is a distinctive strength of the program that represents global trends in IR practice.

Vascular Interventional Physicians Outpatient-Based Lab
Memphis, Tennessee
The Memphis outpatient-based lab provides residents with a high-volume ambulatory interventional radiology experience centered on consultation, longitudinal care, and office-based procedural practice. With two fluoroscopy suites, a dedicated CT room for CT-guided procedures, more than 1,400 procedures performed in 2025, and over 3,200 clinic visits, this site offers extensive exposure to the outpatient clinical and procedural workflow of modern IR. Residents gain experience across a broad range of minimally invasive procedures while developing skills in patient evaluation, procedural planning, peri-procedural management, and follow-up. This site strongly supports the program’s mission by training residents to function as clinically engaged interventional radiologists in addition to technically capable proceduralists.
Vascular Interventional Physicians Outpatient-Based Lab
Southaven, Mississippi
The Southaven outpatient-based lab complements the Memphis experience by providing additional exposure to high-volume outpatient interventional radiology in a streamlined ambulatory setting. With one active fluoroscopy suite and a second suite in place to support future expansion, more than 750 procedures performed in 2025, and over 1,900 clinic visits, this site reinforces the clinical and operational aspects of outpatient IR practice, including consultation, procedure selection, longitudinal follow-up, and efficient office-based care delivery. Training in Southaven broadens resident experience in ambulatory IR and prepares graduates to practice across diverse outpatient and private-practice environments.
