Integrated Interventional Radiology Residency

Baptist Memorial Hospital - Memphis

Welcome to the Integrated Interventional Radiology Residency at Baptist Memorial Hospital–Memphis. Our program is built on the strength of a longstanding Diagnostic Radiology residency that provides high volume training, at a tertiary referral centre, with broad exposure to complex inpatient and outpatient imaging.

The curriculum is structured to provide a strong integrated diagnostic and interventional foundation during the PGY-2 through PGY-4 years, followed by dedicated interventional radiology training in the PGY-5 and PGY-6 years. During the diagnostic years, residents train alongside the Diagnostic Radiology residency while gaining progressively increasing exposure to interventional radiology in preparation for the senior IR years. Interventional training is delivered through a practice model that spans outpatient, inpatient, and emergency care. Through Vascular Interventional Physicians and Mid-South Imaging, residents gain experience in a modern outpatient interventional practice through dedicated Outpatient Based Labs (OBL), whilst also benefitting from inpatient clinical experiences through various site locations within the Baptist Memorial Healthcare System.

This combination of rigorous diagnostic training, procedural breadth, and real clinical continuity prepares residents to become complete strong diagnosticians, thoughtful clinicians, and technically capable Interventional Radiologists prepared for the full scope of contemporary practice.
